BODIES
Bass bodies are made from many different types of woods. Please understand that each wood
type has its own tonal qualities depending on weight, density and moisture content. The most
common body woods are ash, maple, poplar, and walnut. However, in recent years high end
companies have made bodies of some extremely exotic woods such as bubinga, redwood, ovancol,
wenge to name but a few.
